About me
My name is Michael Bernard Jones.
I am a retired environmental scientist living in Montgomery Alabama. I am a self-taught artist who creates paintings, drawings, and collage artwork. I discovered a passion for creating art In September of 2023 at the age of 60. When I picked up a paintbrush for the first time started painting I felt something transformative happening to me. Since then, I have been exploring new styles and techniques, learning and acquiring new skills each day. I enjoy experimenting with different colors, shapes, and textures utilizing a wide variety of tools. I use watercolor paints, acrylics, graphite pencils, markers, and various paper media to create my artworks. These often feature abstract or semi-abstract forms inspired by nature, emotions, and memories. I embrace vulnerability and authenticity in my art, giving you a glimpse into my heart and soul. Painting has opened a new dimension of expression and communication for me, and I hope to convey a sense of wonder, joy, and curiosity with my work. I love sharing my art with my friends and acquaintances on social media and in person. I am incredibly fortunate and humbled to have discovered this deeply hidden part of myself. I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as I enjoyed creating it for you.
